Successful completion of the 1st Student Conference of the Department of Computer Science of the Ionian University (IUSCI)
The Department of Computer Science of the Ionian University is pleased to announce the successful completion of the 1st Student Conference on Computer Science (IUSCI), which took place on the 6th and 7th of May 2025 in Corfu. The conference was organized as part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Department's foundation, marking an important milestone that further highlighted its academic and research profile.
The majority of the participants came from the field of Computer Science, but the presence of students from related disciplines, such as the Department of Audio and Visual Arts and the Department of Archaeology, Librarianship and Museology of the Ionian University, highlighted the interdisciplinarity and the importance of cooperation between different scientific fields.
The delegates presented papers of high scientific level in topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, machine learning, information systems and bioinformatics. The hybrid format of the conference, combining physical and online participation, contributed to the wide dissemination of scientific knowledge and improved accessibility.
The programme included additional workshops, lectures by distinguished scientists, as well as round table discussions, offering the participants the opportunity to gain valuable scientific experience and further develop their academic skills. The Organizing Committee, evaluating the positive results of the conference, notes that participants gained substantial knowledge and created valuable networks.

The Organizing Committee expresses its sincere thanks to the student volunteers, the lecturers Ms. Eleni Christopoulou (Member of the Department's HQD) and Mr. Dimitrios Rigas (Member of the Department's HQD) for their excellent assistance, the Scientific Committee, the Chair of the Department of Computer Science Ms. Katia Lida Kermeridou, the Department and the University itself, as well as the professors Mr. Nikolaos Korfiatis and Mr. Markos Avlonitis for their valuable contribution and support in the organization. Finally, she expresses her thanks to all the participants who warmly embraced the conference.
